“This is the last Haz Waste days, making it the best time to check around your house for household chemicals,” said Elena Evans, Environmental Health Manager at MPH. “Clean out that slate of questionable chemicals in your basement or garage while helping keep both your community and drinking water supply safe.”

Earlier this summer, MPH and Home ReSource celebrated the opening of the year-round Household Chemical Disposal facility. Up until 2020, the Water Quality District typically held Haz Waste Days every year. Staff recognized that residents may have accumulated a high quantity of motor oil or other substances they need to discard since the last event was held. This will be the final Haz Waste Days event, as the year-round facility is meant to address this need.
