Animals

Missoula Public Health is dedicated to the health and well-being of our community—both human and animal. Missoula Animal Control works to protect domestic animals while ensuring public safety. A primary focus of Missoula Public Health’s Environmental division is fostering safe coexistence among all animals in the community. The department promotes the use of bear-proof trash cans and collaborates with local officials to establish bear buffer zones, ensuring residents are informed about coexisting with their animal neighbors.

For those interested in adopting a pet from the county animal shelter or seeking guidance on interactions with wildlife, essential resources are available here.
