Healthy Missoula Youth Coalition Hosts Townhall Meeting on Youth Marijuana Use
While youth alcohol and tobacco use has declined in Missoula, underage marijuana use is on the rise. According to the Youth Risk Behavior Survey, the past 30-day use for high school students has increased 22% from 2019 to 2021. Healthy Missoula Youth is a substance use prevention coalition coordinated through Missoula Public Health. Healthy Missoula Youth is investigating underage marijuana use and other data related to marijuana use in the Missoula area. The coalition will share their findings about youth marijuana use, youth hospitalizations and DUIs from a scan of dispensaries at the C.S. Porter Middle School library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.
Young brains are rapidly growing and changing during adolescence, making them more vulnerable than adults. Exposure to substances can cause long-term damage. Research has shown that youth marijuana use puts young people at increased risk of developing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, cannabis-induced psychosis and substance use disorder.
Learn what parents, guardians and the community can do to discourage underage marijuana use and protect developing brains. Join us for an evening of conversation and community-based solutions, no registration is required.

\r\n\tSome visual components of WP Go Maps use 3rd party libraries which are loaded over the network. At present the libraries are Google Maps, Open Street Map, jQuery DataTables and FontAwesome. When loading resources over a network, the 3rd party server will receive your IP address and User Agent string amongst other details. Please refer to the Privacy Policy of the respective libraries for details on how they use data and the process to exercise your rights under the GDPR regulations.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\tWP Go Maps uses jQuery DataTables to display sortable, searchable tables, such as that seen in the Advanced Marker Listing and on the Map Edit Page. jQuery DataTables in certain circumstances uses a cookie to save and later recall the \"state\" of a given table - that is, the search term, sort column and order and current page. This data is held in local storage and retained until this is cleared manually. No libraries used by WP Go Maps transmit this information.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
