Missoula Animal Control Asks Publicto Schedule Appointments During Building Remodel

Beginning Friday, Jan. 17, Missoula Animal Control is asking the public to schedule an appointment to visit the shelter. The building is currently undergoing a major expansion and remodel project at 6700 Butler Creek Road, providing huge improvements for the animals, staff and the public.

The shelter will be completely closed to the public on Thursday, Jan. 16. Construction crews will begin working on the current lobby. Shelter staff will move into a temporary trailer outside the building, with limited access to phones and internet during the move. Crews aim to have the internet running again by noon on Friday.

Appointments for animal pick-ups and surrenders, adoptions, licensing and other services can be made by calling 406-541-7387 from 12 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is closed on Sundays. Parking will be limited during this time.

“We will still be available to assist the public, accept stray animals and adopt pets to new homes, but due to space and parking limitations we ask the public to please be patient while we are in our temporary space,” said Holli Hargrove, shelter manager. “Please call to schedule appointments as much as possible. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new space once it’s completed.”
